El Pequeño Paraiso:

We are a small resort located right on the south end of Lo de Marcos beach.

This is the best location along the beach for swimming, boogie-boarding, surfing and paddle-boarding.

The site consists of the 4 story “tower” and bungalow buildings which surround the RV parking area. Common areas include the showers/washrooms and the patio area of the first floor of the tower along with a large patio area next to the beach.

The site is sprinkled with large coconut palms, mango trees and mature decorative plants giving the grounds a tropical feel.

There is a real sense of community here with many activities, both impromptu and scheduled.

The village of Lo de Marcos:
A town of approximately 2,500 year-round residents has maintained a “true Mexican” feel.

Even considering there are only small resorts and no large condos, there are several excellent restaurants and bars, some offering Mexican and “American” music entertainment.

There are no large stores – just the local “teindas” that provide a variety of food products, fruit, vegetables, really fresh fish and beverages (alcohol included.). There are pharmacies, doctors and dentists in town.

Saturday is “Market Day”.  There are booths with local vendors offering organic vegetables, jewelry, artwork, clothing, baked goods, lunch …. and more.

The locals continue to celebrate the great number of Mexican festivities with parades, shows and of course, lots of music.
The beautiful central plaza provides a large space for festivals, concerts, and just meeting up. Saturday nights are alive with tourists and locals enjoying the tacos on the street in the warm night air.

The Countryside:
Lo de Marcos is surrounded by a beautiful tropical forest with the Sierra Madre mountains looming to the east. The forest offers great biking and hiking opportunities on the dirt roads that access the local farms and secluded beachs.
